Abstract
Purpose: This study aimed to understand the meaning of working experiences of home visiting nurses at Reaching Out Community Centers in Seoul in the changing stream of community care policy.

Methods: Participants of the study consisted of 6 visiting nurses. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and a focus group interview from February to May 2021. The data were analyzed using the phenomenological analysis method suggested by Colaizzi.

Results: Overall, 15 themes, 6 theme clusters, and 3 categories were identified. The results showed that visiting nurses¡¯ experiences were 'balance between work responsibilities and reality,' 'working in an unstable work environment,' and 'being a caregiver for local people.'

Conclusion: This study provided a deeper understanding of the public home visiting nurse¡¯s working experience. The results showed the need to improve the working environment of the nurses by enhancing employment status, worker protection systems, and education systems. In addition, it is necessary to re-recognize the value and meaning of home visits by public health nurses. These findings are expected to be utilized as basic information for improving public home visiting services.
